FOOD SAFETY LEVEL-2 -AOSH-UK
Everyone who works with food has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and ensures that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.
EU and UK regulations state that all food handlers must receive appropriate training in food safety practices relevant to their duties.
Who needs this qualification?
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of the importance of good personal and workplace hygiene and how to keep food safe from contamination. This qualification allows learners to take responsibility for food safety in a Retail environment.
How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 1-day training course or 2 half-day training sessions (9 hours).
Learners will build an understanding of safe food handling practices and the importance of keeping foods safe. Topics covered include: personal responsibility for food safety, importance of personal hygiene, keeping work areas clean and hygienic, and the importance of keeping products safe.
The Level 2 Award in Food Safety Retail is valid for a period of three years.
